This ones a soft pastel, 16″ x 20″. I combined a couple of my favorite things- Lanikai Beach, good waves, and an afternoon downpour.
On a separate note, I’m going to start selling my originals; contact me if you’re interested: firstname.lastname@example.org. It’s hard to get rid of the original of something, but lately I’ve had a little practice in giving art away and it actually feels good to know that the art is out there is the world with someone enjoying it. What good is it for me to keep it down here in my basement all to myself anyway? Time to create it and then set it free. Framed & matted, this one is $180. Without the frame- just matted- $120. Or, let’s bargain. I can make prints too.
Creating a fresh piece for the Surf Art Expo… with soft pastels and acrylic. Happy Summer.

This winter has been SO mild! We’ve only had three legit snows. Has it been this mild where you’re at, too? This is from snowshoeing in the Chief Noonday Trail:
Tried to challenge myself by painting some waves at a different angle. I’m going to try to do more like this- want to get better at it. This ones a soft pastel of Costa Rica created from my head. On another note, its snowing in Michigan for the first time this season & the sun is out at the same time… its looks so cool out the window.

Today’s surf-art forecast: long, glassy lefts! Woohoo!
This is a logo I created last summer for a client who wanted “a rat, on two water skis, with a backwards hat and blonde hair, hawaiian board shorts, teeth, and a gold chain with an ‘R’ on it”. Can you say random? Funny thing is, I still have no idea what the logo was used for. It was fun making it though!
